跨顱直流電刺激（tDCS）是以神經刺激的形式，使用恆定的、低電流經由小電極直接將電流傳送到感興趣的大腦區域中，tDCS有陽極和陰極兩種類型的刺激：陽極的刺激以激發神經元的活性，而陰極刺激為抑制或降低神經元活動。在健康成人測試中得知tDCS可以增加對各種作業的認知表現，然而此表現取決於受到刺激的大腦區域。
